    Red pin cushion made from the battle flag used at the Battle of San Jacinto April 21, 1836. 7 inches x 6 1/4 inches. It is said that red cloth left over from making the flag was used to make this cushion. Originally trimmed with red, white, blue and brown beads. No beads remain. Poor condition. Lots of holes and all corners are torn. Very fragile condition. No accession tag.

    Bedspread made in 1862. It is hand woven of white thread which was spun by hand. It has an eagle with spread wings woven in the center and it covers most of the top of the spread. The eagle is made of the same thread as the spread. Multiple stains.

    Ink well from Fort McKavett, Post-Civil War. Greenish tint. Eight-sided base. Sides slope down froma small neck with 3/4" mouth. Mouth is chipped. Bottle is covered with white calcium like substance due to burial in the ground for so many years. 2 1/2" height by 2 1/4" octagonal base.

    The material is cotton. Mrs. Houston bought enough material for two dresses and gave half to Mrs. S. M. Garvin. They made the dresses alike and at the time in the home of Mrs. Garvin in Roans Prairie, Grimes County. Presented through Dr. Carrington. 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" folded along length on one side. Beige with brown flowers. Tattered and torn. Very dirty. Was possibly white at one time.
