Mahogany veneer side chair with carved crest rail of a rose on top of a leaf pattern, column shaped splat, sabre legs. Horse hair seat cover. Restored by Lennox Scott in 1989. One of a set of dining room chairs which belonged to Sam Houston and descended to Maxian Neal Rubey through her maternal grandmother. |
