Letter from Hugh Mcleod, Adjutant General Texas Army, at Austin, 7 January 1840 to the Hon Speaker of the House of Rep. Hand written, two pages folded. He notes that he had no intention of insulting General Houston when he sent Chief Bowles chapeau/hat to him. He was only following Burleson's orders. Torn at creases where letter was folded.
